The course of Prof. Deji Akinwande

We are happy to announce that the first of the additional courses held by visiting renowned scientists from overseas will take place at our Faculty between 25th of February and 8th of March 2019. Professor Deji Akinwande from The University of Texas at Austin, USA will present a series of lectures titled “Introduction to Carbon and 2D Nanoelectronics”. The course can be chosen by PAMEP students instead of one of the other courses of selective classes, and will be also available to other graduate and PhD students at Adam Mickiewicz University.

Short description the course of Prof. Deji Akinwande:

Over the past decade, there has been an intense interest in all things made of carbon particularly applications employing carbon nanotubes and graphene. This course will introduce the science and technology of carbon nanomaterials and their electronic, optical, and sensor properties. The course will begin with a basic review of quantum mechanics and elementary theory of solids, and progress to contemporary topics including carbon synthesis, sensor devices, energy devices, interconnects, transistors, and circuit applications of carbon nanomaterials. In addition, beyond carbon two-dimensional materials and devices will be discussed, such as MoS2 and TMDs.
